Prior to starting MPDA in 2019, Scott McCallum worked in the Oil and Gas industry as a geologist, petrophysicist, and data analyst for 13 years. As a researcher, he spent 3 years working at Oak Ridge National Lab and 6 weeks in Antarctica aboard the research vessel, Nathaniel B. Palmer. He holds a B.S. in Geology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Geology from Southern Illinois University, and is currently working toward an M.S. in Computational Mathematics at Duquesne University
Scott has performed extensive petrophysical work on projects that include gas in place, condensate in place, oil in place, and mineral models for the Marcellus, Utica, and Permian (Woodford and Cline) intervals. His data analytics work has utilized both geologic and engineering data and has included numerous scripts for automation, data compilation, standardization, and analysis, including neural network, k-means, and random forest.
